Hollie Arnold breaks the World Record to claim gold in the F46 para-javelin

Hollie Arnold won gold in dramatic fashion at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The three-time World Champion and current Paralympic champion found herself
behind New Zealand's Holly Robinson who had broken the World record on her
first throw.

The 23 year-old came back with throws of 37.71m, 41.74m, 41.94m, 40.06m and
42.40m leaving her with one last throw to try and grab gold.

With her sixth and final throw, Arnold threw a distance of 44.43m, breaking
Robinson's short lived World Record, earning her the gold medal in the2018
Games- Wales' fifth so far in Gold Coast.

Arnold said: "I'm just over the moon.

"On that last one, I told myself, 'I can take this'. I just focused on me.

"I've never screamed so loud. I'm so happy. It's been a rough few months for
me so I'm just so happy to be Commonwealth champion."

In addition, B6-B8 trio Pauline Wilson, Jonathan Hubbard and Ray Lillycrop
defeated England 15-13 in their Round 5 group match in Broadbeach.

Julie Thomas and Gilbert Miles lost their Mixed B2/B3 Pairs Round 5 group
match to South Africa 11-8.
